Have you been on pins and needles waiting for the last five looks?
Just say you have...it'll make me smile :)
I really hope you're enjoying this little mini series because I've had so much fun doing it!
So onto the fun since I know that's what you're here for...
First off, you have to be reminded what they all started out as...
the sad little brown paper mache ornament (and have I mentioned CHEAP??)...
And just when you thought it couldn't get any better than the last five looks...
here's five more easy ways to transform this guy from blah to fantabulous!!
And I'm sure you guys could come up with a bajillion more.
But here's my last five looks I've got for ya!
Look six was fun and quirky :)
I painted it red, then dry brushed some black paint to give it a more aged look.
I used a sponge pouncer to make white polka dots all around it.
I thought about doing stripes at first but thought I might go crazy trying to get them to stay straight around all those curves...
And I'm loving my burlap ribbon.
Totally need to go get some more.
Look seven was almost a craft epic fail.
I had an issue with the diamond glitterblast paint (yup, sometimes thing go wayy wrong)
And I ended up giving up on it.
But the texture was still there so I just painted over it with white pearl paint.
Turned out sooo pretty.
Then I tacked some burlap scraps around the top with more upholstery tacks.
My mom thinks it looks like an onion so now every time I see it, I think that.
And I guess you will now too...
(Admit it, you just scrolled back up and nodded, huh?)
Oh how I love look eight.
I have this harlequin tissue paper from Hobby Lobby that I LOVE to use.
I tore it into little squares and then modpodged them onto the ornament.
I tied some pretty black beads into the ribbon and let them dangle.
Ah. Romance and elegance.
Swoon.
Look nine was nice and easy.
Paint white.
Dry brush a little black onto it.
Stick a vinyl monogrom on it.
Voila.
Oh and pretty ribbons on top, of course :)
Would make a way fun and easy gift!
So this was my first attempt at faux mercury glass so don't judge too harshly :)
Plus I used silver metallic paint and it would totally be gorgeous with the looking glass spraypaint.
But, well, I worked with what I had.
And I love the result.
I spraypainted it silver and then used a small bristle brush to stipple paint all over it.
Then I used a soft cloth to gently rub some off and let the silver shine through more. I think the blue ribbon just makes it shine.
*****
Can you believe all the stuff you can do with one little paper mache ornament???
I really like the idea that one thing can have so many different personalities infused into it.
I think that's one of the things I love most about crafting and DIYing... things morph into whatever YOU make them. Everyone leaves their own unique stamp and perspective on their creations.
Love that.
Want to see all ten looks together??
Of course I had to put them all together so you can see all their loveliness in one glance...
So now that you see them all together, which one is your favorite?
Can you think of how YOU would transform one???
If you'd like to see more of the first five looks, check them out here.
I really do hope you've enjoyed this series!!
Don't forget to check back later today to see the fourth free Christmas printable for the week!

I love all of them, especially the polka dot one. Glitter is always fun!
ReplyDeleteImpossible to decide...they're all so amazing! I do really love the paint and burlap. Just something about it!
ReplyDeleteThey all look so beautiful next to each other. I know that on your first five I liked the blue with nails and the twine wrapped but man that red color stands out so beautifully when they are all grouped together. You've done a great job with these little guys.
