Baby M LOVES her some Minnie Mouse.
She's recently become a huge Elsa fan but I wanted to celebrate with the thing she loved for most of the year :)
I'm not a big 'theme' person when it comes to decorating as far as just buying things with the character all over it.
I wanted it to be Minnie Mouse, but with a soft, pretty twist to it.
I'm obsessed with all things watercolor & floral lately so that's where my head immediately went.
When designing her invitations, I fell in love with the soft watercolor background so I used it for all my party printables!!
I'll be sharing a few freebies at the end, so make sure to stick around :)
We kept it simple by confining most of the decorating to the food table area.
I set up a table in our living room and decorated around it for the biggest impact.
The main piece was that huge & gorgeous floral Minnie with the aqua frame around it!
I knew I wanted something eye-catching and we had an old mirror just lying around in the attic, desperate to become a part of the fun!

The floral Minnie was so easy to make, I"ll be sharing a DIY on it soon.
I hung the frame (it was surprisingly light) from a nail in the window molding.
I had planned on stringing a banner too but once the frame was hung, it really didn't need anything else.
The table itself was covered in beautiful layers!
My secret weapon when it comes to tables is none other than wrapping paper!
It comes in so many different colors/designs and is usually pretty cheap.

The entire color scheme for the party revolved around the gorgeous floral wrapping paper I picked up at TJ Maxx.
I started with a plain white table cloth to cover the whole table.
Then a layer of lace fabric and finally, I added a runner with the floral wrapping paper.
It actually ended up perfectly clean after the party so I was able to roll it back up to use it again!!
I made a new rag garland from different fabrics and draped it across the front of the table.
These are my favorite to make! Just make sure to get more fabric than you think- it takes quite a bit!!
These are perfect for doubling as photo backdrops too.
A friend of mine made the cute Minnie ears & pearl cupcakes. They were amazing. I made a small '2' topper for the birthday girl to have on hers.
The food was so fun- hubby made all of Baby M's favorite dips. She's obsessed with all things 'doutch' as she calls them. Cheese dip, Guacamole and salsa are her favorite things in the world!!!
A quick run-down on the food choices we had:
Hot Diggity Dogs: Pigs in a Blanket
Donald Dip: Salsa
Goofy Guacamole
Chip & Dale Cheese Dip
Minnie Mouse Munch: Birthday cake popcorn from Sams
Fruit Bows: Strawberries & blueberries on skewers to look like bows
For table decor, I kept it simple since I knew the table would be filled with all the food.
I filled milk glass vases with hand-cut bows that I printed on scrapbook paper and glittery 2's cut with the Silhouette. I taped them onto sticks to pop in the vases.
I borrowed my distressed DIY candlesticks to use in the little display as well.
I printed mini versions of the bow onto paper, cut them out and glued them to a handful of the gold straws I had out.
It's all about the details :)
I found these cute 'cheers' plates at Target and had to use them. We have ears say cheers!! Is one of our frequent sayings around here :)
I added glittery mouse ears to them too.
My picture holder drawers came in handy again for holding tons of pictures of our girl from this past year!
I pinned them on using bows because. Minnie.
I created a fun 'Bowtique' area to hold the favors & loved displaying some of her favorite bows!
I used an old window I had to string bows down & added a painted frame.
The favors turned out so cute and were filled with Baby M's absolute favorite snack- jelly beans!
I used cute gold bags from Hobby Lobby & pinned "Thanks for Bean here" prints to them with gold brads & paper flowers.
I added '2' Minnie stickers to the front as well.
We didn't play a lot of games because I knew it would take long enough to do cake & presents with a toddler but we did have one!
I made a big Minnie mouse shape out of gold posterboard & glittery paper & the kids took turns pinning bows on blindfolded. It was a bigger hit than I expected :)

Drinks were set up right next to the food table & we made up pink lemonade.
I added another vintage window with bow streamers behind it.
Baby M's birthday outfit was so incredibly cute!
Leotard: Morgan & Mae Co
Gladiators: Brave Little Sole
Necklace: Presley Couture
Crown: Claires
Lace Skirt: Walmart
Baby M had such an amazing time & loved seeing Minnie Mouse everywhere!
Though her favorite was eating cake :)
