I have been dying to share the birthday party we did for our little girl a few weeks ago!
If you're looking for a fun, girly way to celebrate a birthday in the fall, this is it :)
I was suppppeeerrr excited about doing this party because
1. It was my first birthday to do for my step-daughter and I wanted it to be fun!!
2. It was my first girl birthday to do EVER and I was so psyched about being girly.
and
3. It's FALL. My favorite. time. ever. And there were so many possibilities!!
So we decided on a pumpkin princess party.... there is tons of eye candy to look at and lots of details about some of the things I did.
So sit back, scroll down and enjoy :)
Of course, every princess party has to have the perfect invite.
I mixed aqua & pink together with some cute little pumpkins to set the tone for a colorful pumpkin party :)
I knew a while ago that I wanted to have the party at my parent's house.
They have gorgeous open land and it was the perfect backdrop for a vintage, fall birthday.
We set three tables up parallel to each other and I used my dropcloth tablecloths that I adore so much for pretty coverage.
Ignore the horrible wrinkles.
I'm dedicated. But not enough to pull an iron out on a dropcloth.
Talk about a losing battle.
I used a mix of things for the centerpieces on the tables we'd be sitting at.
Wood slices, decorated gold pumpkins & faux wheat did the trick.
I gathered things from around the house to use as decor and it worked wonderfully without breaking the bank.
I made a pretty vignette at the bottom of an old wooden spool with household treasures too.
I used the spool as the drink/cake table. I've been obsessed with that spool ever since it showed up at my parents house.
I knew it'd get good use someday!!
My golden striped mirror had to make an appearance of course along with a mixture of white & gold decor pieces.
The main food table came together with another dropcloth tablecloth and a rag garland tacked to the front of it.
I love all the pinks/oranges/golds together!!
My amazing husband is the mastermind behind the backdrop for this table.
I had told him that I wanted a way to string these awesome tissue poms that a friend gave to me after her wedding and I couldn't think of a good way to hang them.
Hubby suggested we use some old trampoline poles we had lying around (yes, we hoard weird things). I spraypainted the poles white and he pounded them into the ground.
They worked beautifully and I've added our white poles to my birthday party supplies for life :)
I have a stack of white frames that I keep just for parties and it's easy to switch out printables for different events.
I made a cute 'Emily's pumpkin patch' sign and stuck it in a large frame to prop by the food table.
I wanted to do a mix of fall food faves.
We added carrot/broccoli pumpkins for a balance to all the sweet :)
I love having an assortment of white/blue dishes on hand and I pulled a bunch of them out to lay food on.
I added cups of candy corn & nuts scattered on the table and I found the cutest pumpkin marshmallows to stack in the middle.
The darling Cinderella carriage is a Hobby Lobby find that I painted gold.
And of course my vintage scale is still my favorite flea market find.
Pretzel sticks, apples with caramel sauce, pumpkin dip and an assortment of crackers rounded out the food.
We filled a drink dispenser with pink lemonade for refreshments and set up the drinks on my old wooden spool.
I love how the food/drink area came together and it was the centerpiece of the whole party area :)
For fun activities to do, we set up pumpkin bowling with toilet paper & a round pumpkin.
The kids had a blast with it forever.
Part of the perks of having all that gorgeous land is it's the perfect place for a hayride!!
This was definitely the hit of the party and the kids loved crawling all over the trailer and hay when it was parked too :)
We set up a picture area with bales of hay and more painted pumpkins.
I loved having it as a backdrop for some fun birthday pictures of little miss!!
I set up my shim chalkboard here too for an added punch of glam!
of course, getting all the kids to cooperate for the perfect picture was near to impossible!!
But little miss sure hammed it up!!!
Daddy had to get in on a few too :)
One thing little miss asked me for was to be able to paint at the party.
So I decided to set up a pumpkin painting table!!
I bought a bunch of tiny pumpkins and set them up on the table with a variety of foam brushes and bottles of paint.
The kids had a blast painting up there little pumpkins!!!
And they were quite the little artists with them too!!
I decided to make a little sitting area for little miss to open presents & set up my vintage chair that I've had hanging out in the garage.
It was the perfect aqua/rustic combo to be a princess chair!!
And lastly, but definitely not to be forgotten, was the beautiful cake that mimi made for her!!
We kept the outside simple with white frosting & aqua & gold sprinkles.
The inside cut open to reveal gorgeous pink layers!!
I made a few pumpkin cake toppers to pop out the top!!
I used a white milk glass bowl & a wood slice to display the cake on.

And of course you can't forget the golden glam candles!!
And a couple more beauty shots just for fun...
And that, my friends, is a pumpkin princess party!!
Are you loving it???
Little miss had so much fun and I had a blast putting it all together.
I've definitely realized that I love putting parties together and coming up with all kinds of fun elements to make it unique!!
I hope it inspires you a little for some fun fall birthday fun.
I'd love to hear what your favorite part of the whole setup is too :)
Hope you guys have a great week!!!
