I have had the best girls day out shopping...
this time it was all clothes shopping and I had (maybe a little too much) fun!
I didn't get around to posting this morning because I was just way too excited to head out...
this whole being out of school thing is going to my head.
I have to constantly remind myself that I go back monday so don't get toooo used to it.
Do you ever pass things up in a thrift store and constantly think back on why you didn't just grab it?
I have that issue a lot.
But I must have passed up ten different sets of these vintage jar sets and I always really just wanted to grab them and take them home.
But I didn't really NEED them, you know?
(anyone have that story?)
(anyone have that story?)
But I finally couldn't do it anymore.
I had to grab them up.
I found the cutest set of three at a thrift store near my university and home it came...
Isn't she lovely?
I know, I know. she's kind of sad looking.
And they definitely weren't going to be the defining advertisement for my pantry...so that had to go.
Plus she has way too much potential for being more glam :)
So I grabbed my little helper
(more like he barrelled his way in!)
and he set to work helping me paint all the wood a beautiful blue...
And they just looked a little too 'perfect' for me...
you know I can't stand leaving things alone...
Ah...that's so much better.
A little distressing does wonders.
I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit and modpodged it on the front.
No more 'the pantry' for this girl :)
Then I decided the tops of the jars needed a little something else.
I had these cute labels hanging around so I cut slits and holes into them to fit around the knobs...
and modpodged them on too.
And here she is strutting her stuff!
She now proudly contains all our animal necessities...
doggy bones, mice food and mice chew toys.
Perfectly sealed and contained :)
I think the labels are the perfect touch of vintage glam she needed.
And they wear the distressing well.
Yum.
It now sits right on top of the fridge for easy access.
Plus I don't have to keep around any yucky bags or boxes for all the animal items.
I like this storage much much better.
I'm so glad I didn't pass her up this time around.
You know you want some glammed up jars for yourself!
Check thrift stores because I seem to find them everywhere- some with two or four jars.
You think the vintage glam suits her?
Because it makes me happy :)
