A Bit of Christmas Around the House

Since money was a little tight this year, I utilized a lot of my decor from last year and thought it all turned out so much better :)

I have a whole box full of just silver, red & blue ornaments and they came in handy all over the house.
Just fill jars, bowls & containers with them and you've got instant Christmas glam!!

My silver reindeer was 75% off last year at Kohls and I heart him.

I decked out my second mantel with a bunch of my decor from last year's Christmas mantel
I love all the colors together :)

I moved my chevron wood art from my fall mantel and used it above the china cabinet for now and I love it.
I added a cute little nativity scene, some wood slices and more ornaments to finish it off.

I love my little entry table and it got lots of Christmas-sy spirit this year.
I added my linen striped wreath to the mirror and sprinkled several trees in the middle of the scene.
My vintage scale and bricks were the perfect finishing touches.

I love mixing rustic & glam so my tree slices were spread out throughout the house.
This one was perfect for setting my glittery silver tree on!

I never did get awesome pictures of my tree this year- I let the kids go crazy putting ornaments on it.
I added my red mesh and glittery champagne ribbon for some gorgeousness :)

One of my favorite things to pull out at Christmas is my vintage Coca-Cola cooler.
It's been in my dad's family for years and it's special to me :)

I let the kids make handprint christmas trees and I love having them hanging near the tree!

After the hot chocolate party (if you missed all the fun, check it out here!)
I used some of the decor to finish decorating the dining room.

I set the trees on the table and added a white platter in between them.
(I love white dishes!!)
I set a pair of dollar store candlesticks and a Goodwill wine glass on the platter and added ornaments to them.
I was surprised by how much I liked the simplicity of it!

I left the ornaments and wreath hung over the window for a touch of glam & color.

There's something about bakers twine and linen that I love :)

I think my dining room is quickly becoming my favorite room in the house.
All that blue, red and linen makes me happy :)

Hope you enjoyed a little of my Christmas happiness we have going on :)
Happy Tuesday!

Red & Turquoise Hot Chocolate Bar Party!!

And all I had was visions of turquoise & red!!

I decided it had to have neutrals with pops of red & turquoise and I had so much fun with it!
I used my drop-cloth tablecloth that has made an appearance at a couple of parties so far and I absolutely love the subtle back-drop it gives for everything.

The toppings were all on the table...while the hot chocolate stayed nice and toasty in the kitchen.
Guests could crab a jar, fill it up and add all their yummy toppings to their hearts content!!

Everything in the middle of the table was pretty much found in my garage.
I hunted down fun treasures and gave them coats of red & blue spraypaint.
Yay for being a bit of a hoarder :)

The trees that flank the set-up are more posterboard trees like the ones from my Christmas Mantel.
I covered them in strips of linen and wrapped red & blue baker's twine to finish them off.

One of my favorite things on the table was my toppings centerpiece.
I used an old baking pan and spraypainted it silver to accommodate several dollar store vases.
The blue ones were simply the same glass vases with a coat of spraypaint on the outside.
I added acrylic scoops to dish out the yumminess.

I also gave an old candlestick a coat of glossy red spraypaint to lift the tray up a bit.
The glass martini glass I've had forever and was perfect for adding more height with some sparkly ornaments!!

Our toppings consisted of:

Mini M&Ms
Mini Chocolate chips
Marshmallows
Chocolate Sprinkles
Mini Candy Canes
Hazelnut Bits
Spray Whipped Cream
Chocolate-dipped Spoon Stirrers

I got the way cute 'enjoy some hot cocoa' sign from here
I love using free printables- they're so easy to switch out and change up!

Above the table, I strung some dollar store ornaments I found from bakers twine.
I wrapped a dollar store grapevine wreath with strips of red burlap for an easy 10-minute wreath.

I absolutely adore my cute mason jars with their party lids!
I added some red & silver paper straws to them for extra fun.
(I get my cute straws from this awesome shop!)
The kids loved them and surprisingly, they were not too hot to have hot cocoa in them.
Can you believe those cute red plates are from Kroger??

This blue frame was a super easy transformation.
I painted an old thrifted frame a bright blue & added some red sequin fabric to it.
Instant glam!
Scatter some ornaments around for easy bling too.

That gorgeous white cabinet door was leftover from last year's fall mantel
I love having these kinds of props around to pull out when I need them.
It served as the anchor for my table centerpiece and I added a few details with bakers twine and scrabble letters.
easy peasy :)

The table filled up fast with yummy goodies.
I added chocolate-dipped spoons for yummy stirrers too.

Look at those cuties!
They just had to be in a picture :)

I set up the buffet with plates to hold all the yummy cookies that were coming.
Guests wrote the type they brought on the placecards and we voted on the best.

I got the cute placecards and cookie exchange printable from Living Locurto- so fun!
I slipped the printable behind one of those gorgeous frame appliques from Michaels that I painted aqua.
The burlap & white frame makes me happy too :)

And check out two of my way-cute guests that definitely lapped up plenty of cookies & hot chocolate:

So what do you think??
We had a blast and it was so much fun decorating for a fun party with friends :)

Have you done any hot chocolate bars this Christmas?
I'd love to see pictures!!

I hope this week is going great & all your last-minute Christmas preparations are getting done!
I have tons of projects in the works :)
See ya soon!
